BCCIS opened its doors to 27 students and their families in September 2005. Since then, we have multiplied to a community of 800 students and over 100 staff members. Our small beginning was five classes across the school, from preschool to Grade 6, now, we hold over forty classes from Preschool to Grade 12. Early on, our Early Child Education (ECE) department, which hosts Preschool and Kindergarten 1, has outgrown us and moved on to their own peaceful quarters adjacent to the main building. Following in their footsteps was the Kindergarten 2 stage, also moving on to their own haven and slowly allowing the young students to transition to the big school.

Welcome to Saint John High School - the oldest publicly funded high school in Canada. We are a school that is steeped in tradition from our SRC to our school graduation. Our students have a wide variety of courses that they can choose from during their 4 years at Saint John High. All students are encouraged to be involved in the life of the school by joining one of the many clubs or athletic teams, while at the same time learning the importance of public service to the many organizations within our greater community of Saint John. Having students graduate as well rounded citizens is an important component of student life. Our school motto Vita Vitalis - A Life Worthwhile challenges our students to live a life that has them grow and develop throughout their time with us and as they go through life. What will they do to leave their print on the world? Students are encouraged to take an active role in their learning and their education. They are challenged by the dedicated staff to stretch their thinking and to keep an open mind when learning.
